“Pete” Moore, Teresa’s grandfather
I am a daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, and niece. Before I received my doctorate in physical therapy, my front-row seat was watching close friends and family age well. My grandparents were wonderful examples, living well into their 80s, 90s, and even 100s! I’m a better person for knowing them and blessed to have been loved by them. Now I enjoy watching my parents flourish in retirement – playing, serving, learning, and traveling – with the same zest they’ve always had. It was no accident that I became a physical therapist and found my niche over the last 5 years to become Board Certified in Geriatrics. I have worked in acute care, home health, outpatient, and hospice settings, and loved them all, but the passion hasalways been loving and serving older adults.
I had a professor in PT school say, “they don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” I enjoy caring for people and using my knowledge and practice to improve their current and future situations, and I look forward to doing that more broadly and proactively now. I was born and raised in central Louisiana, in an incredible family. I now live in Waco, Texas with my husband, our 2 girls, and our dog, Hobbs. We love our “family days,” dance parties in the living room, friends, family gatherings, great food, craft beer, and most things outdoors. I look forward to what is to come, to serve and grow with Better at Last!
